Domtar workers ratify contract in Dryden

500 CEP members at Domtar‘s operation in Dryden, Ontario have ratified a new 5 year contract.

Details of the contract:

  • 5 year contract
  • retroactive to September 1, 2009
  • expires end of August 2014
  • no wage increase in first 3 years
  • 1% increment September 2012
  • 1.5% increment in September 2013
  • all woodland drivers will now receive a $35 per diem when commuting to woodlands operations
  • mill language improvements and meal ticket allowance increases from $20 to $35
  • woodlands daily meal allowance increases from $20 to $30
  • $15/month increase to woodlands defined contribution pension plan
  • increase in woodlands monthly retirement bridging from $10 to $12/month per year of service after age 60
  • new woodlands apprenticeship program and improvements in language, benefits, bereavement and scheduling
  • commitment by CEP and Domtar to encourage greater First Nations participation and training opportunities in future woodlands operations

The vote was 70% in favour of ratifying the contract.

    I had to read it twice, a pulp and paper deal in the east with no concessions and actual improvements!!!

    mersey no longer in picture i like retro to 09 but no increases for first 3 years ooops no retro
