Just curious......I wonder how much Bucky contributed to the Liberal coffer over the last few years?I hope it was around 105 Million or more because according to Question period a few months ago,Buchanan has recieved 80 Million and with this 25 brings the total to 105 Million.
Maybe AbitibiBowater should invite a Liberal MPP to the mill for a photo op and get to know each other.Talk over business and see if the Liberal Party would mind a tax free contribution or two.
No harm in that, all above board.Completely innocent.

Bucky gets a total of 105 million, yet just not that long ago denied severance to his people if things didnt go his way. Well they have for now. But what happens when this money goes to pot as well. Back for more cash. The forest companies are run by crooks that should all be jailed. No different then Earl Jones. Yet they keep getting away with it. I just dont get it.

Personally, I did not feel that Hampton was against TB Pulp opening or receiving money to open. What he was trying to raise, was the fact that Buchanan has been screwing his employees and breaking the law by not paying severance to those who are legally entitled. Hamton questioned the very practice of giving Buchanan,or any other crooked company, tax payer dollars, when he treats employees in this manner. Gravelle still hasn't answered Hamton's concerns, and instead fires back with questions like " Why are you against TB Pulp?" That wasn't the point Hamton was trying to make. Tax dollars should not be given to companies who think they are above the law, and that hold employees ransom for money. " If I pay severance than I'll just go bankrupt!" I say,"then go bankrupt, seize the company's assets, pay the employees and move on". On the east coast, a certain politician didn't put up with Ab/Bowater's game and seized their assets to ensure payment of severance. But this is Ontario, where our politicians have no balls and all they do is devise ways to separate you from your money. This will never be over with Buchanan. He will return for more money when pulp slides again. "I'LL BE BACK", should be Bucky's catch phrase.

Buchanan has a history of receiving assistance from the province.

At one time, Buchanan Forest Products owed the provincial government $40 million in unpaid stumpage.

Quote:
"For the longest time, people were not aware of what we have done for the sawmill," Bill Mauro, Member of Provincial Parliament for Thunder Bay – Atikokan said. "We differed their stumpage costs to help them stay viable. Their industry has no market so we have been deferring for sometime so they can have cash and maintain operations."
