Corner Brook paper machine will stay idled

Kruger now owns the only operating newsprint mill in Newfoundland and Labrador, but because market conditions are so weak, its No. 4 paper machine will stay idled.
The machine was idled for 8 weeks this spring and was supposed to have restarted this month. Kruger says there is no justification for restarting the machine with the weak conditions.
30 workers were laid off by Kruger in March due to the idling of paper machine No. 4.
Kruger said the situation will be re-evaluated monthly.
