Corner Brook Pulp shuts down paper machine for 8 weeks

Kruger's Corner Brook Pulp and Paper in Newfoundland is shutting down its No. 4 paper machine for 8 weeks - from March 22 to May 17.
30 union workers will be on temporary lay off.
The move is part of the 25,000-tonne curtailment in production Kruger announced earlier this year. The eight-week shutdown will account for 13,000 tonnes of that reduction in Kruger’s operations.
Kruger will also shut down the No. 2 and No. 7 machines at the Corner Brook mill for a 72-hour period following the restart of No. 4, which will account for another 2,000 tonnes of production taken out of the system.
