Minas Basin Pulp & Power Co. has carbon credits for sale

Minas Basin Pulp & Power Co., of Hantsport, Nova Scotia, wants to make money selling "carbon credits" to industrial polluters in their province.
The company has taken significant steps to update its paperboard mill to reduce its greenhouse gas emissions and is now offering credits to companies that want to offset their greenhouse gas production.
Trading carbon credits is an alternative to a carbon tax. It allows companies that need to increase their emissions to buy credits from those who pollute less.
Minas Basin Pulp & Power has already been trading credits on the Chicago exchange.
Minas Basin has been producing hydroelectric power since 1936 and paperboard since 1946 and has used recycled fibre since the 1950s. The company now makes its paperboard from recycled products and waste.
