Inside sources are saying that the 3rd shift that was recently cut at Canfor’s Plateau Mill west of Vanderhoof, British Columbia will not return.
50-60 people will be out of work. 300 workers will remain employed at the mill.
The Plateau Mill is considered a flag ship in the industry and is reported to be operating very close to the break even mark in spite of loans and support of the executive offices.
