We all think it’s time for someone: be it any of the following ??????
Government - Union - Weyerhaeuser
It seems no one has any authority
To make a meaningful statement. Is C&C of British Columbia purchasing the Hudson Bay Plywood Plant also the Carrot River Sawmill? If C&C has simply gotten in too deep , please say so and leave the Mills up for sale with the opportunity of perhaps other more serious investers.

Forest Blog please update your website. The Hudson Bay Carrot River headline is nine months old.In that time the president of C&C has died. In the five years weyerhaeuser has been operating in Hudson Bay they have chosen too cream the closest wood to all of their mills. The softwood supply is nearing exhaustion. weyhaeuser believes someone may be foolish enough to purchase their scrap assets. It is unduelly cruel of weyerhaeuser, the NDP Gov, and your website to lead the people of the area to believe these mills have a future. The only thing that is coming to these mills is a Wrecking Ball. Words from a 40 yr. Hudson Bay, Sk. Logger, who is now an Alberta resident!

Ken, perhaps you aren't familiar with the format of a blog. This particular story was posted on 3/11/06. Of course it's old news! But it is archived forever and will always be available.

If you would like to write an article outlining the current status of the mill, please email it to me and I'll consider publishing it on this site.

it's about time for weyerhaeuser to shit or get off the pot. before they steal our soft wood and ship it out of province if they are not going to use it leave it stand right where it is.there is two mill in the area that can use the wood and they shut them down. if they don't want to run them then they don't need the wood. it's one of their saying's us it or loose it . so why are they not loosr the wood.

dear area residents the parsite called weyerhauser will continue to destroy until it is driven back to the usa. it has only one plant left running in the province and even that plant is limping. lets hope they leave before they cream all of the close hardwood and softwood. it would be nice to see a decent company have a fighting chance to operate after weyerhauser is done crapping on everyone !

Weyerhaeuser are logging the white spruce and black spuce and are shipping it out of the province some going into U.S . This should be stopped if they are not supplying job's for saskatchewan people they should not be takeing this wood. After all weyerhaeuser are the one's who when they came in this area they put in the forsty agreement was use it or loose it . they shut mills in saskatchewan that can use this wood and still takeing the wood out this should be stopped .aparantly they are offering this wood for sale to the small saw mill's in Saskatchewan but they know very little will sold here. Because there price is to high and any small saw mill's operating on the purchase of this high price logging will soon have to shut down also. So being the N.D.P made Weyerhaeuser king's and stewart's of the forest they takeing a very large part of the forest [ white sprice ]that small saw mill's could use for year's to come. And they are shipping this wood out of the province and accoss the border for a large profit which Saskatchewan don't see in terms of labor to manufacture it and good dimensional lumber which will soon be depleted to the point where we will be looking at bring lumber into the provice from else where to support the farm building need's [corrals , sheltter's wind break material's and lumber need's through out the provice] Our white spruce is dissapearing fast and Need's something done about it . Main thing is if they are going to log this wood they should makeing plywood , lumber, and other product that can be made right here in our province for the benefitof our people

Thank's from one concerned Saskatchewan resident
