A Buyer has been Found for Carrot River & Hudson Bay
Nov 3, 2006 | In Mill Sales/Transfers | 8 feedbacks »
C&C Wood Products of Quesnel, British Columbia is buying the two Saskatchewan mills that Weyerhaeuser has planned to close: the sawmill in Carrot River, and the plywood mill in Hudson Bay.
The 300 workers who work at the mills are ecstatic. The mills had been slated for closure early in the new year.
C&C Wood Products had been looking to expand their operations for awhile and feel that both of the Saskatchewan mills fit in perfectly with their plans.
C&C Wood Products purchased another mill, in Alberta, from Weyerhaeuser back in 2004, so no problems are expected for the completion of this proposed deal.
The company C&C Wood Products specializes in value-added products that are marketed in Japan and Europe. This may mean that more jobs will be added to the Saskatchewan mills in the future.

It seems no one has any authority
To make a meaningful statement. Is C&C of British Columbia purchasing the Hudson Bay Plywood Plant also the Carrot River Sawmill? If C&C has simply gotten in too deep , please say so and leave the Mills up for sale with the opportunity of perhaps other more serious investers.
If you would like to write an article outlining the current status of the mill, please email it to me and I'll consider publishing it on this site.
Thank's from one concerned Saskatchewan resident
