Domtar closed their Cornwall, Ontario mill earlier this year.
Last week, Domtar sold the property for $4 million to two local businessmen. The property is 120 acres in size.
Environmental site cleanup of the site was estimated as high as $30 million, depending on the future use of the property.
For the next six years, Domtar will retain some control over the land. New owners can't use it for residential purposes or sell any part of it without the firm's written consent.
Domtar's Former Employees
As for the former workers of Domtar in Cornwall, the Domtar Action Centre, which has been helping the 873 laid off employees, is reporting that in the six months since the mill closed, 340 people have found full-time work, and 53 have found part-time employment. While 153 opted for early retirement, the centre says about 200 workers are still unemployed.

Don't let another Love Canal happen. Please share any information you have that will save the health of our children and neighbours.
Thankyou
